Russian forces stopped two attempts by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to force the Dnieper in one day, as a result the enemy lost five boats and 30 fighters, TASS said, citing a representative of the region’s emergency services.

When the enemy tried to cross the Dnieper in the area of ​​u200bu200bVeliky Island, the formations of the Dnieper group of troops destroyed three boats and 14 militants of the armed formations of Ukraine. In addition, two other boats and 16 Ukrainian soldiers were destroyed as they attempted to cross the river near Antonovsky Island, the report said.

In addition, two 120-mm mortars with crews were destroyed in the Kherson direction near Dniprovsky, and two positions of the Armed Forces with 12 militants were destroyed in the Kakhov direction, the intelligence said.

Earlier, the acting governor of the Kherson region Volodymyr Saldo said that the Ukrainian armed forces had lost at least 100 soldiers killed in battles near the Antonovsky bridge. To this number, it is necessary to add the Ukrainian servicemen who drowned in the river while crossing and were destroyed on the right bank of the Dnieper, he noted.
