Fran Serrano, defensive lock for Cacereño
The Cacereño enters the final stretch in terms of the preparation of its squad. The green entity made official this Sunday the hiring of the 28-year-old Córdoba center-back Fran Serrano, from Melilla, a team with which he was promoted to the First Federation last year.
With a great size and skills to neutralize aerial balls, the new defender of Cacereño is the seventeenth piece of a squad that will still have to be nourished with four U-23 players. One of them could be the youth player Miguel Nieto.
Fran Serrano already knows what it’s like to play recently at the Príncipe Felipe, since last February he defended the interests of Melilla from the starting eleven in a match that ended with a goalless draw.
Trained in the Córdoba youth academy, Fran Serrano came to taste the honeys of the elite with the white-and-green club, with which he made his debut in the First Division. Before joining Melilla, the center-back also played for the Granada affiliate, as well as for Algeciras and El Ejido.
A priori, he is one of the men who, due to his experience and proven solvency, will be called to be one of the regulars in Julio Cobos’ schemes this coming season.
