Deputy Svishchev about the matches of the Crimean clubs in the championship of Russia: “A historic event. FIFA and UEFA will return Russia as soon as it suits them” – Football
Deputy Dmitry Svishchev spoke about the first matches of the Crimean clubs in the championship of Russia.
On Sunday, July 16, in the 1st round of the Second League, Rubin Yalta played a draw with Biologist (1:1) on the road, and Sevastopol defeated SKA Rostov (3:1). Thus, the clubs from the Crimea played in the championship of Russia for the first time since the 2014/15 season.
“A historic event, I congratulate all Crimean athletes, fans, children from children’s sports schools and their parents. The region, which has good old traditions in sports, started as a new entity in the Russian Football Championship.
Initially, there was no need to be afraid of anyone, FIFA and UEFA, as soon as it would be beneficial for them, would return Russia. Regardless of whether Crimean clubs play or not,” said the chairman of the State Duma Committee on Physical Culture and Sports.
