Vice President of the National Automobile Union Anton Shaparin said in an interview with Sputnik radio that Lada cars are most often stolen in the Russian Federation today, as they are market leaders and attract attention.
The expert also added that in the next 3 years, car thieves will pay more and more attention to Chinese cars. According to him, the risky list is headed by the Kaiyi sedan, which began production at Avtotor. The reason is the high demand for this car.
Speaking of other Chinese brands, Shaparin noted that “which of them will be among the most popular cars” should be taken into account here. So he believes that China’s crossovers “don’t really change the stats, because they’re sold in small numbers.”
The specialist also pointed out that the KIA Rio and Hyundai Solaris will continue to be stolen, because they are massive cars. Toyota Land Cruiser is popular in the Caucasian countries and therefore also attracts the attention of intruders. But the cars of the “Big German Three” (BMW, Audi and Mercedes-Benz) have good protection against theft, and criminals do not stop choosing them.
