The official Fantasy of LaLiga returns from the hand of Relevo

LaLiga and Relevo have signed an agreement for the next three years to renew and improve the LaLiga Fantasy application. This competition, which runs parallel to the official championship, is a game whose participants create virtual soccer teams with real First Division players and receive points based on their performance throughout the days.

The score of LaLiga Fantasy will no longer be the same

As a result of this agreement, the only official LaLiga Fantasy App will add a new scoring system called ‘Relay Points’, extracted from different advanced metrics differentiated by player position (key passes, chances created…).

The Relevo data team, one of the pillars of Vocento’s newborn digital sports newspaper, has worked for months with LaLiga to develop a new methodology from scratch that provides transparency and objectivity to the evaluation of the players in each match.

The new scoring system eliminates the old subjectively assigned points and replaces them with scores obtained by applying the most advanced Big Data technologies to sport. Traditional fans of LaLiga Fantasy have nothing to fear, the rest of the game will work as usual: the value of goals, assists, clean sheets…

In addition to the metrics differentiated by position, a series of general data will be added that will help to contextualize the game of each player and that can be added or subtracted to guarantee a better evaluation of the players.

A content and communication plan at the level of the best League in the World

Relevo will also launch an ambitious content plan around Fantasy on all of its social networks and on its website, applying the same rigor and passion as to other sports competitions. These contents will include detailed analysis of player performance, tips on how to invest and have more budget for the team. A coverage that will not be limited to the digital world, Relevo will also take to the streets ready to launch challenges to the entire Fantasy community.
