Strahinja Erakovic will sign a contract with Zenit this week.

According to MaxBet Sport, the decision to acquire the Crvena Zvezda defender was made very quickly. The 22-year-old football player was close to being transferred to Spartak, the documents were prepared for signing, the conditions were agreed.

But the situation quickly changed, and the Petersburgers made an offer, relying, among other things, on good relations with the Serbian club and their common connection with Gazprom.

“Red Star” canceled the planned deal with Spartak and accepted the offer of the champions of Russia.

Erakovic will receive a little over a million euros a year. On Wednesday, he is expected to arrive in St. Petersburg to undergo a medical examination and conclude a four-year contract.

Recall that Zenit was interested in the Serb last summer. It was reportedthat the St. Petersburg club will have priority in negotiations on Erakovic if he makes an offer.
