Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko said that by 2030, 5 year-round sea resorts will be created in the country.
The official’s comment was published on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers of Russia. He specifies that the resorts are organized in the Black, Caspian, Baltic, Azov and Japanese seas.
As Chernyshenko explained, the number of domestic tourist trips is the main indicator of the national project. This number should, according to plans, be at least 140 million by 2030. The government believes that the new spas will bring an additional 10 million to this indicator.
Within the framework of this project, the Caspian coastal group (Dagestan), Novaya Anapa and Abrau-Dyurso, Crimea (“Golden Sands of Russia” and Saki), Primorsky Krai (Vladivostok, Khasansky district) and Kaliningrad (“Russian Baltic”) can become priority tourist centers.
According to Chernyshenko, sectoral departments and regions are already working on building support infrastructure and soft loans to implement these plans.
