All tourists in Bali will be forced to pay a new tax

The authorities on the Indonesian island of Bali have decided to introduce an entry tax for foreign tourists from 2024.

According to The Jakarta Post, the fee will be 150,000 rupees (about $10). It is noted that initially the tax was going to be set at a rate of 30 to 100 dollars.

The island’s governor, Wayan Coster, said that payment will be accepted through an electronic payment, which must be made before arriving on the island. So far, nothing has been said about whether it will be possible to pay in cash immediately upon arrival.
