After the Russian Drone Racing Federation is approved by the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, sports Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) can be equated with sports equipment.
According to the president of the organization Ilya Galaev, this initiative was announced last year by the executive director of the Drone Racing Federation of the Russian Federation Vadim Dzema during a round table discussion held at the GTSOLIFK Russian University of Sports.
The proposal will also be discussed by the Drone Racing Federation after its official approval by the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation. Equating sports UAVs with sports teams will be a part of the development plan for drone racing in the country. Such a step will make it much easier for athletes to train and apply for a flight.
Galaev drew attention to the fact that the federation develops and popularizes competitions in this sport. The tasks of the organization also include the creation of schools for future pilots, the preparation of a training program for operators of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAS), the equipment of training sites and much more.
According to him, after restrictions on UAV flights were introduced in many Russian regions, the recognition of drones as sports equipment will simplify solving the tasks and processes of this sport.
