Kravtsov: Kyiv wanted to turn Artek into a private village | Society

Kiev plans to transfer the Artek International Children’s Center into private hands by 2014 in order to turn it into a cottage village, said the head of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation Sergey Kravtsov.

“Soon we will celebrate 100 years of the international center, which the Kiev regime wanted to turn into a cottage settlement, here already in 2014 a plan was prepared to transfer it into private hands. We left a building – you can see what a terrible state it was in. Today it is a modern and interesting camp, children go here, ”the RIA Novosti quoted the minister as saying.

According to Kravtsov, around 40,000 children from all over the world visit the center every year. Now representatives of 52 countries spend their holidays in Artek.

We add that at the beginning of the week the British authorities supplemented the list of anti-Russian sanctions by including the Artek WDC in it. The Kremlin called this decision the height of madness.
