Kim Min Jae shared his impressions of his military service this summer.
“Here in South Korea, military service is compulsory. The country cannot exist without an army, it needs to be defended – that’s how we were brought up.
During basic training, I did many things that had nothing to do with football. We fired pistols, marched a lot – 30 kilometers with backpacks of 25 kilograms and so on. Then I forced myself to lose four kilograms.
I don’t think people understand this because they are not South Koreans,” said the defender of Bayern and the South Korean national team.
