A drunken quarrel became the cause of a fight with a chessboard in St. Petersburg | Accidents

The reason for the incident in the St. Petersburg chess club, where a man was beaten with a game board, was the teacher’s request for promotion, reports the Fontanka SPB Online Telegram channel.

According to preliminary data, on the night of July 20, the Petrovskaya Ladya club celebrated Chess Day by drinking alcohol. Among the banquet participants were 36-year-old club president Alexander Volkov and 63-year-old teacher Sergei Vidyakin.

“Vidyakin asked Volkov for a promotion, but he refused. And then the teacher pushes the president, grabs the board and starts beating again, ”the publication says.

Now Vidyakin, according to the Telegram channel, is in hospital in serious condition: his ear was amputated, hematomas and bruises on the head and torso were diagnosed, as well as acute ethanol poisoning.

Volkov was arrested. As the publication “Rise” writes with reference to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for St. Petersburg, a criminal case has been opened against the man on the willful infliction of moderate bodily harm.

Earlier it was reported that in St. Petersburg the champion of Russia in running Alexander Hytte was convicted of beating a neighbor. He was sentenced to two years in a penal colony.
