Draft law to abolish fines from private traffic cameras

State Duma deputies from the LDPR faction plan to submit a bill for consideration by their colleagues, according to which only the records of state cameras will be taken into account in case of violations on the roads.

As the deputy head of the faction Yaroslav Nilov said on his Telegram channel, the corresponding document has already been prepared. He proposes taking into account when making decisions only photographic and video evidence of breaches of devices belonging to government agencies.

Nilov noted that under the initiative, competitive requirements for the functionality of traffic cameras and the places where they will be installed will be determined by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Russian Federation.

He stressed that it is the State, not the private company, which must register the infractions.
