According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation, 267 active forest fires were registered in 19 Russian regions.
The ministry notes that at present, the natural fire area in the country has reached 1 million hectares.
At the same time, experts warn that a high fire danger will remain this week in the Astrakhan region, in the south of the Volgograd region and in Kalmykia.
Last week, experts from the Ministry of Emergency Situations recorded more than 5,700 man-made fires. Firefighters managed to save 336 people while extinguishing the fire. The ministry highlighted that the number of deaths from fires decreased by 19%.
