Deputy Bessarab asked for a truce from the army for specialists in the field of defense industry | Army | Society

In Russia, deferrals from conscription for military service could be introduced for some categories of citizens, in particular for workers of the military-industrial complex (DIC). Such a proposal was expressed by a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans’ Affairs Svetlana Bessarab in a conversation with the online publication Podmoskovye Segodnya.

The parliamentarian recalled that today there is a postponement of the mobilization for defense industry specialists. During the period in which the SVO is underway, it would be possible to provide the army with a respite.

“I think it would be an important decision. For a difficult period for the country, it would be possible to organize a deportation from the army for some citizens,” commented Bessarab.

Today it was reported that the State Duma adopted amendments to expand the draft age for military service from 18 to 30 years. The changes will go into effect next year.
