Member of the Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technology and Communications Anton Gorelkin considers it necessary to prohibit registration on Russian portals of foreign mail.
The deputy proposes to make the necessary modifications to the bills “On Information, Information Technologies and Protection of Information” and “On Communications”.
Alexander Khinshtein, chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, supported Gorelkin’s initiative.
Parliamentarians at the meeting will consider proposals in the second reading at the meeting. If the new rules are approved, they may take effect on December 1 of this year. As a result, it will be possible to register on domestic sites through State Services, the Unified Biometric System, indicating a phone number or using another information system for Russians.
