The governor of the Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov handed over the keys to new apartments to residents of the region who lost their homes due to constant shelling from Ukraine. He wrote about it in his Telegram channel.
“Today more than 50 apartments are ready to welcome new settlers. These are families from the Krasnoyaruzhsky and Belgorod regions, from the Valuysky and Shebekinsky districts, ”she said.
The head of the region clarified that “a lot has been done”, but there is still a lot to do to restore damaged homes and build new homes.
To date, 1,100 families out of 1,707 have already decided on the choice of new apartments and houses.
“We <...> we meet with each family every day, we individually choose a place for construction or a finished apartment. We are looking for suitable options that would suit everyone, ”Gladkov noted.
If the situation permits, new settlers can move furniture from their previous place of residence to their new home. In this they are assisted by the heads of the municipalities.
Funds for the purchase of housing were allocated from the federal budget on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“Not a single person will be left without a roof over their heads. It is very important for us that people who have endured many hardships in recent times remain in the Belgorod region,” the governor stressed.
Earlier, the region’s authorities said that the restoration of Shebekino, located near the border with Ukraine, would require about 20 billion rubles.
