Fernando Alonso on Red Bull dominance: Hamilton has a short memory, getting old. Pole record holder loses to Russell – the car shows his flaws

Fernando Alonso walked on ex-teammate Lewis Hamilton.

The Spaniard criticized the Mercedes pilot for talking about the unprecedented speed of Red Bull.

“I have never seen such a fast Formula 1 car,” Lewis said after the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

“I don’t agree at all. Last week I finished 20 seconds behind Cheko [Переса] and Max [Ферстаппена]. He (Hamilton) and Rosberg were a minute ahead in 2014 and 2015.

He has a short memory, he is getting old,” Fernando reacted in an interview with L’Équipe.

Alonso also commented on Lewis Hamilton’s performance in qualifying compared to team-mate George Russell:

“An ordinary car shows his shortcomings. Prior to that, he rode on his own or somewhere near a partner. But he’s the pole record holder and George Russell beats him 2-0 in qualifying this season. This demonstrates that the car is still a key factor.”
